All Programs regardless of the start and finish date are open to new athletes, they are prorated monthly

U8 Summer sessions start Tuesday May 20 - June 24,2025 or Thursday May 22 - June 26 both 6:00 - 7:00 pm. Second sessions start Thursday July 3 - Aug 7, 2025 or Tuesday July 8 - Aug 12, 2025 both 6:00 - 7:00
Grit Athletics Summer Track and Field Program for U8 (2025)
This program is designed for children under 8 years old, prioritizing physical literacy and the FUNdamentals stage of the Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD) model.
Program Goals:
- Foster a love for movement and track and field.
- Develop basic movement skills: running, jumping, throwing, and coordination.
- Build confidence and enjoyment in physical activity.
Key Components:
- Physical Literacy: Fun activities focused on agility, balance, coordination, and speed, forming the foundation for future athletic skills.
- Skill Exploration: Introduce track and field basics like sprints, relays, and jumping through simple, age-appropriate exercises.
- Games and Play: Engage athletes with playful challenges and group activities that promote teamwork and positive social interactions.

- The program supports physical literacy and encourages skill development without pressure to specialize.
- Activities are designed to build overall athleticism and enthusiasm for sports while keeping participation fun and engaging.
This plan provides U8 athletes with a solid foundation in track and field while emphasizing enjoyment and holistic development.

U10 & U12 Summer training plan, Starts May 20, 2025 6:00-7:30 pm (Once or twice a week programs Tuesday / Thursday)
Open to both boys and girls
This program emphasizes physical literacy, skill development, and progressive training based on the Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD) framework.
Once a week would be considered a recreation athlete who will make minimal gains. Twice a week is recommended for optimal gains for this age group.
- Physical Literacy: Focus on running, jumping, and throwing skills through fun and engaging activities to build coordination, balance, and agility.
- Skill Development: Introduce basic techniques for sprints, hurdles, relays, long jump, and shot put, emphasizing proper mechanics and safety.
- Progressive Training: Gradually increase intensity with age-appropriate drills and workouts tailored to young athletes.
- Games & Challenges: Use playful exercises to encourage teamwork, motivation, and social development.
- Weekly Structure: Warm-ups, skill practice, fitness exercises, and cool-downs for a holistic training experience.
The plan aligns with the FUNdamentals and Learn to Train stages of the LTAD model, aiming to foster enjoyment, teamwork, and a strong athletic foundation. The ultimate goal is to nurture a love for track and field while preparing young athletes for future success.

U14 and older Summer training plan, Starts May 20, 2025 Tuesday & Thursday 6:00-7:30 pm, Sunday 2:00-4:00 pm (Once, twice or three times a week programs)

Once a week would be considered a recreational athlete. For Optimal gains three times a week is recommended.
This program is designed to align with the Train to Train and Train to Compete stages of the Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD) framework, focusing on refining skills, improving physical performance, and preparing athletes for competitive settings.
Program Goals:
- Enhance technical proficiency in track and field events.
- Develop strength, speed, endurance, and flexibility to support athletic performance.
- Foster mental resilience, discipline, and a competitive mindset.
